Above-Floor Cleaning

Routine maintenance for controlled IT environments

Above-floor cleaning Above-floor cleaning Above-floor cleaning

Description

BACS above-floor cleaning services for data centre are available nationwide including Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart and Darwin as well as most regional areas.

After sub-floor cleaning and as part of regularly scheduled maintenance to preserve cleanliness levels, routine above-floor cleaning is needed to remove contaminants that could cause computer malfunctions and to maintain a professional working environment for operators. As an added protection, placing an adhesive-coated contamination control mat at the entrance captures particulates from foot-traffic and equipment wheels before they get tracked into the computer room.

Features

  • To avoid safety risks and minimise disruption of normal room functioning, BACS initially completes a Risk Assessment and defines procedures prior to commencing work.
  • Above-floor cleaning targets all equipment surfaces up to 2.5 metres above the floor, including the tops of server racks and pods. Please see Server Rack and Pod Cleaning for recommended internal maintenance and High-Rise Fixture Cleaning for overhead cleaning of cable trays, power trays and fibre optic conduits.
  • Microfibre cloths and low decibel vacuums equipped with HEPA/ULPA CRV filters (efficiency rating 99.97% at 0.3 microns) are exclusively used.
  • BACS cleaners work in a methodical fashion to perform a proprietary cleaning process that ensures all areas are addressed.
  • Specific problems such as adhesive residues and scuff marks are tackled with cleaning chemicals whose efficacy is regularly reviewed and tested.
  • Specialised mopping equipment leaves floors dry and residue-free (additional procedures are available to maintain vinyl and hard floors).

Benefits

  • Depending on the number of people entering the area, BACS offers routine service at an appropriate frequency.
  • Routine above-floor cleaning ensures ISO 14644 particle level standards are continuously met.
  • The BACS cleaning process eliminates the use of water buckets, thus removing the risk of any water entering the sub-floor or affecting equipment.
  • BACS supervisors perform periodic site checks to review room status, the effectiveness of cleaning procedures and their frequency.
  • To fulfill your documentation requirements, BACS above-floor cleans can be validated with particle counts.
