August 2018 - Monica is a Superstar

Monica couldn’t believe it when Bob Allan, BACS Managing Director, paid her an unannounced visit on site at NEXTDC S2 and presented her with flowers and a bottle of wine in front of a room full of NEXTDC staff. “I thought they were having a meeting but I am very happy, it was very nice”, says Monica. Monica adds that the recognition motivates her to do even better. This is only a small token in recognition for her excellent services which has come to the attention of NEXTDC staff. Monica was later awarded the “Employee of the Month” award.

Two days prior, Joe Pitchford BACS Sales Manager received these positive words from Corey Galvin, NEXTDC Project Manager. “As discussed, we would like to thank Monica for all her hard work in always making everyone in our office smile, her work efforts are seconded to none.” BACS was very happy to follow-up those words with a personal presentation from Bob.

Monica says, “the staff at BACS make me feel welcome and happy, they teach me well and take interest in what I do and everyone treats me as equal”.

At NEXTC Monica says, ”they treat me well, they offer me coffee and biscuits, they move when I come to their desk to make my job easier. Corey always asks after my kids”.

Monica was born in Colombia and raised in Spain. Prior to coming to Australia, Monica worked for Koller art gallery in Switzerland for 5 years. She migrated to Australia 3 years ago.

Monica is one of 18 staff that has been recently hired to keep up with the growth in demand for technical data centre cleaning services. Monica is based in NEXTDC S2 five days a week to take care of both general and technical cleaning. BACS currently services NEXTDC data centres in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Perth and Brisbane.
